Wilson Picket

I am a little sad to hear that Wilson Picket passed away yesterday. He definitely had one of the great voices of the last 40 years. Everyone knows "Mustang Sally" and "In the Midnight Hour" but do yourself a favor and find a copy of his version of "Hey Jude." Where Paul just sang:

"Well don't you know that its a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder"

Wilson decided he that he was just going to heat things up on his own. I swear he took the line "Take a sad song and make it better" as a personal challenge, and he did. It almost sounds like the recording technology at the time can't contain his voice. He just destroys the Beatles version as far as I am concerned. So go get some soul.
