Don't Let the Hymns Fool You
I am listening to Tom Waits, and just heard the song Mr. Siegal. It has to have one of the greatest opening lines in history:
"I spent all my money in Mexican whorehouse baby,
Across the street from a Catholic Church.
And then I wiped off my revolver
And I buttoned up my burgundy shirt."
It is probably a bad thing that this line makes me smile every time I hear it.
